1. FIRST BURN
On lighting your candle for the first time, be sure to burn for at least 2 hours initially. This will allow the top of the wax to melt completely and will prevent the possibility of "tunnelling" in future burns!
2. TRIM YOUR WICK
Ensure you always, always, always trim your wick before each use, between 3mm - 5mm is recommended. Use a wick trimmer or nail clipper, or even your nails to scrape the charred bits off.
3. BONUS TIP / REUSING CANDLE JARS
Do NOT burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time and never burn a candle all the way through. This goes for any candle but especially for Rossoe Wellness candles. Excessive heat can cause the concrete vessel to crack and seep hot wax onto surfaces.
The best way to clean your concrete jar is right after the final burn, when the jar is still warm. If you witness the flame go out, that is the perfect time to pour out the remaining wax, then simply take a paper towel and wipe clean. You will know it is time for a new candle, when the metal wick holder is visible (around 3cm from the bottom of the jar), discontinue use and scrape out the excess wax. Rinse the inside only, with warm water. Wipe thoroughly and dry with a paper towel. Your concrete jar is now ready for reuse, or upcycle!
